Klondike National Historical Park

Location:
Seattle, WA
Technology Type:
PV System Size:
3.00 - kilowatts

The 3-kilowatt photovoltaic system installation at the Klondike National Historical Park was completed in May 2010. The power generated helps offset the building energy consumption. The project was made possible by funding from the Seattle City Light Green Power Program. At the time of the project, energy monitoring and interactive kiosk provided to the Park connected live performance data from their existing PV system to students and educators for educational purposes.  Read full project narrative >>

Kraxberger Middle School Project - Current Installation

Location:
Gladstone, OR
Grade Level:
6-8
PV System Size:
100.00 - kilowatts

The 100-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) system installed at Kraxberger Middle School is one of three similar renewable energy systems installed in 2011. These projects were implemented through a public-private partnership with the solar panels funded and installed by private energy investors and the schools providing roof space. The school will benefit from free solar power generated by these PV systems for 15 years, saving the school in annual electricity costs. The PV system installed on the school roof is rated to produce about 100,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
