In 2013, the Associated Students of Southern Oregon University installed a 31.59-kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) system at Stevenson Union. The power generated reduces the university's utility bills, works to displace fossil fuel-based electricity from the power grid and helps protect local air quality.
Energy monitoring services provided to the university by the Solar 4R Schools program connected live performance data from their PV system to the Energy Exploration Center at Solar4RSchools.org.
