New Haven Clean Energy Educator Workshop

Grade Level:
1-12
Location:
North Haven, CT
About the School:
On October 2, 2019, 10 educators from southern and central Connecticut came together to explore clean energy topics at the Energize CT Center in North Haven. Together, they learned about Connecticut’s role in clean energy and advanced manufacturing, with a focus on offshore wind energy development in the Atlantic Ocean. They explored wind energy inquiry and engineering design as well as fundamentals of both energy and electricity. Educators represented 6 districts across Connecticut and grades from 1-12, as well as informal education. Each school left with a science kit allowing them to explore wind engineering and do grade-appropriate data monitoring, as well as a number of pedagogical, curriculum, and local energy resources.
