Carl Gipson Senior Center
Live Solar Electric Generation
CARL GIPSON SENIOR CENTER
The Carl Gibson Center is operated by the City of Everett. The center offers membership to adults 50 years of age and older. The installation of this 3.9kW solar photovoltaic system reflects a commitment to renewable energy and sustainable living by the City of Everett and the Snohomish County PUD. The project also reflects the Center’s desire to appeal to the Baby Boomers that are attracted to the many programs that are offered. The solar panels are visible to downtown Everett traffic and it shows that the Center is determined to serve the needs of seniors by offering a method to conserve energy consumption. The seniors are able to share the reports from the kiosk with their children and grandchildren and help the older members stay in touch with today’s technology.
