In 2009, the City of Beaverton received $914,900 in federal stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG). Of this funding, $125,242 was used to install solar panels on the roof of the Beaverton City Library.

The Library completed a series of energy efficiency retrofits and installed a 17.6 kilowatt solar array on the roof.
