About the School:

As part of its Clean Energy and Carbon Reduction Initiative, in 2014 Chevrolet committed to provide Solar 4R Schools renewable energy education resources to teachers in select communities served by local Chevrolet dealerships with installed solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) canopy charging stations.

American Chevrolet of Modesto CA, has a 10.6 kW solar EV charging station on-site and through Chevrolet’s support, provided two Solar 4R Schools workshops that include STEM education training and classroom resources to multiple educators representing the following schools: Barrington Elementary School, Beyer Elementary School, Ceres High School, Elizabeth Ustach Middle School, Franklin Elementary School, Fremont Elementary School, Hilmar Middle School, Keyes Elementary School, and Las Palmas Elementary School. The workshop was hosted by the Stanislaus County Office of Education. The Rahus Institute (Solar Schoolhouse) also provided local teachers with additional resources.

Empower Energies participated through providing energy performance data from the Chevrolet dealership solar EV station at the time of the project. The Modesto Bee covered the event in this article, and Stanislaus County Office of Education produced a YouTube video about the training.
